Imo people had woken up to read the resignation letter of Chief Charles Orie, as the Managing Director of ISOPADEC. Orie, a well-known friend of Governor Hope Uzodimma and an ardent apostle of the 3R government. One of the leading disciples of HOPISM.
To most lmo people, his resignation as MD of ISOPADEC, was nothing awkward or strange. He’s not the first person to resign from his position, especially, when the popular feeling in some quarters was that, the man must have gotten enough or ” more than enough” from the system.
He was also lenient enough, not to have raised any alarm or eyebrows in his resignation letter. And to some people, with his sudden resignation, the feeling was that, the man must have eaten in excess and the governor, as his bosom friend, decided to offer him or give him soft landing, by granting him the option of resigning. The privilege of tendering his resignation letter.
Few hours later, the same government, through the information and Strategy Commissioner, Hon. Mbadiwe Emelumba came out to tell all and sundry that, all was not well with the resignation of Orie. That the resignation was not in good faith. According to the Commissioner, Charles Orie didn’t resign, rather, his tenure expired. And his government waited for him to circulate his resignation letter before informing that his tenure had elapsed. We shall continue to clap for Jesus.
The Commissioner’s press statement only succeeded in raising more fundamental questions than answers. The Commissioner, on his own, confirmed that the relationship between the government, the governor and Orie had broken down totally. One import of his Press release.
The Commissioner also confirmed that Orie must have been frustrated to the extent of resigning. He alluded to the fact that there was a case. A case of frustration. He confirmed too, that Orie’s resignation was an embarrassment to the government or didn’t go down well with the government. Hence, his reaction. The Commissioner volunteered all these pieces of information unsolicited. Unrequested. Undemanded. He decided to be excessively generous. Very prodigal in generosity.
The Commissioner would have saved the government and the governor from this quantum embarrassment, if he had simply written to announce that the governor or the State government had accepted the resignation of Chief Charles Orie. Thanked him for his services to the State and to his people. And then wished him well in his future endeavours. Perhaps, promised that government would not hesitate to engage him in other areas his services might be needed.
But you know that the spiritual is superior to the physical. Hence, the spiritual would always control the Physical. I am telling you something here. Let me do it, is always the language of those who have much confidence in what they feel they are capable of doing.
Now, people know better about the resignation of Orie, courtesy of the information and Strategy Commissioner. May the GOOD LORD, continue to have Mercy upon all of us, since it’s neither by might nor by power, but only by HIS SPIRIT. We shall continue to clap for Jesus.
